April 15, 2025

Apl.-Prof. Dr. Anna-Margarete Sändig (1944 - 2024) was a member of the Department of Mathematics and the Institute for Applied Analysis and Numerical Simulation (IANS) - In memory of Prof. Sändig, the Department of Mathematics and the IANS organized a colloquium on 27.03.2025

On March 27, 2025, the Chair of Applied Mathematics (IANS) organized a colloquium in memory of our dear colleague and friend, Prof. Anna-Margarete Sändig, who passed away a year ago. Prof. Sändig was an adjunct professor at the Institute of Applied Analysis and Numerical Simulation from 2003 - 2011 and continued to be active in research after her retirement.

The event brought together her doctoral and master's students, colleagues, friends, and family members to honor her life, her work, and the lasting impact she made on all of us.

Prof. Sändig was an exceptionally talented mathematician, always open to scientific exchange and eager to explore new ideas. She was also a kind and supportive colleague - generous with her time, thoughtful in her interactions, and always ready to help. As a mentor and advisor, she was everything one could hope for: wise, patient, and deeply inspiring.

We are deeply saddened that she is no longer with us, but we are grateful to have known her. Her warmth, intelligence, and presence will always be remembered.
