Newly endowed prize of the Dr. Karl and Elisabeth Eisele Foundation awarded for the first time at the 2025 graduation ceremony

The Dr. Karl and Elisabeth Eisele Foundation's prize for outstanding graduates in the mathematics and physics teacher training courses, which is endowed with over 2,000 Euros, was awarded for the first time this year.

The aim of the Dr. Karl and Elisabeth Eisele Foundation is the promotion of projects for intercultural understanding with a focus on France, as well as the support of activities that inspire young people for technical issues. The newly endowed prize is intended to strengthen the shortage subjects of mathematics and physics for secondary school teaching and to emphasize the special importance of school education in these subjects. The Dr. Karl and Elisabeth Eisele Foundation will offer the prize for a further three years and award it jointly with the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics.

The prizes for the best teaching degrees in 2024 went to Mr. Laurenz Hartmann (B.A. Mathematics and B.A. Physics), who was recognized for his outstanding academic achievements and his Bachelor's thesis in physics. Mr. Lukas Duschek (M.Ed. Mathematics and M.Ed. Physics) received the prize for the best Master's degree and for his Master's thesis entitled Galois Theory and Commutative Algebra, supervised by Prof. Meinolf Geck. He presented his work in a short lecture.

Prof. Jens Wirth (Dean of Studies for Mathematics) and Prof. Ronny Nawrodt (Dean of Studies for Physics) would like to thank the Dr. Karl and Elisabeth Eisele Foundation on behalf of Faculty 8 for its support and for the recognition of the achievements of our graduates.
